Loy Krathong festival in Chiang Mai
Hey guys,
so in the beginning of November I went to Chiang Mai for a couple of days, mainly to celebrate the Loy Kratong, or Lanternfestival. It is also celebrated in many other parts of Thailand, but this city actually celebrates 3 days of Loy Kratong. People from all over the world (and tons of German people) travel there and want to light a lantern to make a wish. In the evening, everyone gathers at the bridge, and you can see more and more lights, the longer you stay. When you have enough, you can go and buy a small decorated boat with a candle on it, that you light up and release into the river. If you have the time (I guess since you are reading our blog right now, you do), you should go and search for some more pictures of the loy kratong in Thailand. There are some people who released way more beautiful pictures and videos than I could ever take.
You should find some time next year and go there for a couple of days and then travel the rest of Asia.
