Koh Lanta

When going to Thailand the first thing people think of are usually the beautiful islands with their clear blue water and white sand beaches. So when staying in Bangkok it was an obligation for me to check out as many as I possibly can. My personal favorite one was a rather unknown one named Koh Lanta. A friend of mine went there for a week and told me it was so beautiful that he ended up staying there for over a month. Great thing if you can work from home. After flying to Krabi I had to get to the boat and then drive to the Island for another hour. But after finally arriving at my place, the long travel was definitely worth it. The house I stayed in had a private pool and everything was very quiet. The view over the ocean was amazing especially when getting up early to watch the sunrise. The resort I stayed at, which is called Pimalai, had many restaurants with some of the best seafood I have ever tried. There was the „catch of the day“ I tried a few times, which was usually caught on Koh Lanta in the morning and then prepared to eat for dinner in the evenings. Even though the resort was fully booked out, the beach was usually empty. So if you don’t mind spending some more money than on some of the other more tourist-filled islands you will definitely spend an amazing time at the Pimalai Resort in Koh Lanta. No wonder the place is also quite a popular spot to celebrate weddings.
